Our Projects

Since its inception, the long term objective of ENAW has been on development and education…of the mind, of the spirit and helping to providing the resources necessary to do this with dignity and self respect. This objective covers the cultural, economic and spiritual.

ENAW believes that a well developed and properly executed program will provide long term solutions to most of the challenges faced by Edo State citizens. ENAW is open to partnership with legitimate organizations that share our vision and passion for these programs. ENAW has been very successful in developing and implementing some programs across Edo State and in the Diaspora.

A couple of years ago, ENAW developed a series of short and long term goals to meet our mission. The goals include the following:

  • Develop and implement medical and health awareness programs—using all available communication tools to reach the target groups;
  • Partner with professional associations and other NGOs to provide high blood pressure awareness and maintenance to the needy in Edo State;
  • Improve access for marginalized groups such as the women, the poor and the young;
  • Provide awareness and educational information on sex trafficking;
  • Establish a skills acquisition center for victims of human trafficking to reduce recidivism. Training center will also be used to provide training and awareness to prevent young girls from falling victims to traffickers;
  • Partner with professional associations, NGOs and governmental organizations to provide basic immunization vaccine to 1,000 children in Edo State. The children would receive all three doses of vaccinations against diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus;
  • Partner with professional associations, NGOs and governmental organizations to provide long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) to needed areas of Edo State;
  • Develop and implement a robust Health Information Systems for health/medical statistics; Build a healthcare center in a need zone

The following are a list of programs we have either completed or in development or being implemented:

ENAW Member Fund

In accordance with the ENA Worldwide mission, a self help and enlightenment program, known as ENAW Member Fund was developed for members. This program is a separate entity, operated and managed independently from ENAW. The program was developed to alleviate the financial difficulties experienced within the Edo communities when a member dies.

Edo Community Health Center

Will be a multi activity, multipurpose center with enough land for parking and expansion. Collectively, the health center will be located in Benin City and include the following:

  • Skills acquisition Center
  • ENAW Library
  • ENAW Children Center
  • Banquet Hall and Lounge

Edo Youth Movement

The idea of Edo Youth Movement came about when a few Edo teens and young adults came together to find common unity and discuss ways to stay connected and share information about their personal, social, academic and cultural lives.  At ENAW annual convention, this group work with ENAW Cultural Director to organize and participate in pageant and fashion shows, cultural dances, business and social networking, writing competitions, etc. Those who compete in essay competitions get the opportunity to receive monetary awards from such competition like the Cynthia Idusuyi Essay Writing Contest. The hope of the group is to have all Edo youths in diaspora come together under one umbrella fighting for common goals. The group currently has facebook pages in some of the states in the United States of America.

ENAW Political Action Committee

ENAW PAC will advocate on behalf of ENA Worldwide to advance political development and help strengthen democratic institutions in Edo State through awareness, education, empowerment, and the promotion of good governance.

ENAW Medical Mission

The medical mission is part of larger ENAW Health improvement initiative in Edo State. The mission is to provide access to medical care in our underserved and vulnerable communities around the State, to improve the health, wellness, medical relief and quality of life of those mostly in need.

ENAW's Children Programs

The children’s program is where Edo children and preteens are celebrated and get to participate in ENAW’s affairs. The Back to School program allows ENAW to recognize the academic and civic achievements of these children and preteens in their schools and community. The participating child or preteens also actively participate in ENAW’s programs through Edo language and cultural activities at the convention. At each convention, attending children are provided with back to school supplies. Those who compete in essay competitions get the opportunity to receive monetary awards from such competition like the Cynthia Idusuyi Essay Writing Contest.

ENAW Adopt a Park Initiative

As witnessed in our local communities, there abound parks and recreational facilities whose benefit cannot be over emphasized. The ENAW is poised to support the state development by designing and establishing a brand new park solely or in partnership with other committed stakeholders who share the same vision.

ENAW Women Summit

Established since 2009, the ENAW Women Summit has become the centerpiece of ENAW’s mission in providing education and awareness on various medical topics affecting our community.

ENAW Cultural Programs

Enaw Cultural Director organizes and execute Edo cultural activities. The goal of the Director is to promote, protect and inspire Edo Cultural activities from the present three Edo Senatorial districts.

At ENAW convention, aspects of Edo cultures are on display including its folklore, music, dances, fashion, language, food, beliefs and practices.

A day at ENAW’s annual convention will introduce you or reacquaint you to the beauty, grace and majesty of Edo culture, thanks to the tireless work ENAW’s Cultural Director.
